At the outset of the Clone Wars, Anakin Skywalker, serving as apprentice to Obi-Wan Kenobi, entered into a dark, protracted rivalry with his nemesis, Asajj Ventress. Gradually becoming known as the “Hero With No Fear”, he was promoted to the rank of Jedi Knight, and was assigned the Padawan Ahsoka Tano at the outset of a crucial venture to rescue Jabba’s kidnapped son, Rotta. Despite Anakin’s recklessness and subsequent vague misgivings and intimations on the part of the Jedi Council, Skywalker was eventually given command of 501st Legion.
